You're reading: Ukraine imposes new entry rules for travelers from Russia, UK, India and Portugal

Ukraine on July 2 imposed new requirements for all travelers arriving from Portugal, Russia, the UK and India, or have been there for more than seven days during the last 14 days. They now have to undergo a rapid antigen test at checkpoints at the border.

Ukrainians who test positive for COVID-19 or refuse to undergo testing, will need to undergo observation or self-isolate using the mobile application Diy Vdoma for 14 days upon arrival.

Foreigners and stateless people (such as some refugees) without a negative test result will be prohibited from entering Ukraine.

On July 2, 5,001 people, including 1,837 foreigners and 3,164 Ukrainians arrived to Ukraine from Russia, the UK, Portugal and India. 82 people of them have been sent to undergo observation while 40 foreigners were denied entry.

For others, the rules remain the same. Foreigners, stateless people and those with a temporary residence permit either need to have a document confirming full vaccination against COVID-19, a negative PCR test, or a negative antigen test done no more than 72 hours ago.

Ukrainians and people with a permanent residence permit do not need to undergo testing or self-isolation when returning to Ukraine from any country except India, UK, Russia or Portugal.

Children under 12 years don’t need to meet these requirements.
