Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council has imposed fresh sanctions upon nine Ukrainian citizens facing financial restrictions from the United States Department of the Treasury.

The decision was announced on July 16 by the council secretary Olekisy Danilov.

The nine newly sanctioned join the list of 100 other Ukrainians blacklisted by the country’s government along with the U.S. on June 18.

Secretary Danilov did not reveal any names, though he promised to make all of them public in the nearest time.

In general, according to Danilov, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and Department of the State had as many as 134 Ukrainian nationals sanctioned, although four of them are dead now.

He noted that the list does not include some of the most notorious persons prosecuted by the U.S., specifically lawmakers Andriy Derkach and Oleksandr Dubinskiy accused of election meddling, as well as oligarch Ihor Kolomoiskiy sanctioned over alleged corruption.

“We’re going to keep you informed on what is to come in the (council’s) next sessions,” Danilov said, commenting on whether the mentioned individuals would be included in the sanctioned list.

In early June, Danilov also stated that all Ukrainian nationals restricted in the U.S. would be investigated by Ukraine’s security services in terms of their alleged anti-American activities.
