Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov has reaffirmed during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of Moldova Cristina Lesnic Ukraine’s support for Moldova in the settlement of the Transdnistrian conflict, according to the press service of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
“Ukraine’s position on the issue remains unchanged – peaceful settlement exclusively with the preservation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova within the internationally-recognized borders,” Reznikov said.
The officials also discussed cooperation within the trilateral interdepartmental platform for sharing experience in the area of reintegration policy in the territories uncontrolled by the governments and resistance to the influence of the Russian Federation. According to Reznikov, the platform is an important instrument for the exchange of information and experience in the whole range of issues related to the territories that are temporarily occupied by Russia.
“Special attention was focused on observation of human rights, establishment, and support for communication with the population in the territories of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova temporarily occupied by Russia,” the press service said.
The Ukrainian side also thanked Moldova for the support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within international organizations.
