Ukraine is negotiating with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to determine new dates for the session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Ukraine, said Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yehor Bozhok.

“Unfortunately, the pandemic has changed the situation, but I would like to emphasize that it did not ruin our plans, but only postponed the relevant processes. We are now in the negotiation process with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in order to determine new dates when this session is to take place in Ukraine. That is, we are not talking about the cancellation of the session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Kyiv. We are talking about postponing it for another term due to the global crisis associated with the coronavirus pandemic,” Bozhok said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

The deputy minister informed that the talks are being carried out by the permanent delegation of Ukraine to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly led by Yehor Chernev.

“Not only we, but all countries of the world cannot clearly plan their future, because coronavirus has not been overcome yet. Yes, sanitary and anti-epidemic measures in many countries are simplified, but not canceled, and a lot of voices are heard with a warning that other waves (of pandemics) cannot be excluded. Therefore, in order to carry out confident planning, on what dates we postpone this assembly, we need a clear understanding of the epidemic situation in the world. However, I am sure that our deputy ‘landing forces’ in the NATO PA will work out ‘for the full 100%,” Bozhok emphasized.
