National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy has not been importing natural gas under a contract with Russia’s Gazprom for 600 days since Nov. 26, 2017, buying gas only on the western border of the country.
According to tentative data from public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz, as of July 17, 2017 the country imported 36.203 million cubic meters of gas daily. From Slovakia 23.712 million cubic meters, from Hungary 8.239 million cubic meters and from Poland 4.252 million cubic meters.
As reported, Ukraine increased natural gas imports 2.3-fold in the first six months of 2017 to 6.961 billion cubic meters. This number includes 5.646 billion cubic meters imported from Slovakia, 739.3 million cubic meters from Hungary and 576.3 million cubic meters from Poland.
