The Ukrainian government will forward an amnesty bill to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko said following the extraordinary government meeting on April 24.

“For the first time since 2016, the Cabinet of Ministers has submitted a bill on amnesty to the Verkhovna Rada, which stipulates that 1,960 of the 32,942 convicts held in prison will be freed earlier,” Honcharenko said on his Telegram channel.
