The Ministries of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Qatar signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of preventing and combating crime, said head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.

“As part of the official visit of the President of Ukraine to Qatar, I signed with Prime Minister of Qatar Khalid Bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani a Memorandum with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Qatar on cooperation between Ukraine and Qatar in the field of preventing and combating crime. Ahead is the exchange of experience and effective strengthening of cooperation!” wrote Avakov on his Twitter page.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the parties also signed a Declaration of Intent between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the State of Qatar on the conclusion of a document on mutual recognition and exchange of national driver’s licenses.

“Our bilateral relations with Qatar have great potential. We have signed a number of interstate agreements that will be a good continuation of our bilateral cooperation,” Minister Avakov said.

In addition, the Prime Minister of Qatar noted that he highly appreciates Ukraine’s readiness to support Qatar in hosting the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in 2022.

According to him, the Qatari side will soon send a response on the format of cooperation and support during the championship.
