You're reading: Ukraine reduces electricity exports by 23.5%

Ukraine in January-September reduced electricity exports by 23.5% (by 1.060 billion kWh) compared to the same period in 2019, to 3.449 billion kWh, according to data from Ukrenergo.

According to the calculations of the Interfax-Ukraine agency, the supply of electricity from the Burshtyn TPP energy island in the direction of Hungary, Slovakia and Romania decreased by 29.7% (by 899.7 million kWh), to 2.126 billion kWh.

Electricity supplies to Poland increased by 13% (by 127.6 million kWh), to 1.109 billion kWh.

Electricity supplies to Moldova amounted to 130.3 million kWh, which is 74% (371 million kWh) less than in January-September 2019.

Exports to Belarus resumed in July, which since the beginning of the year amounted to 82.8 million kWh.

Ukrainian electricity was not exported to Russia.

At the same time, Ukraine imported 1.871 billion kWh of electricity in the nine months, including 1.105 billion kWh from Slovakia, 473.1 million kWh from Hungary, 152.3 million kWh from Belarus, 86.7 million kWh from Romania, and 53.4 million kWh from Russia.
