Ukraine in April reduced electricity imports by 66.7% compared with March, to 150.61 million kWh, the press service of Ukrenergo has reported.

Thus, imports to the Burshtyn Energy Island zone, which synchronously works with the European energy association ENTSO-E, amounted to 147.9 million kWh, which is 2.9 times less than in March. At the same time, about 70% of imported volumes came from Slovakia, from which 102.94 million kWh were supplied to Ukraine. The indicated volume is three times lower than in March.

“In April, imports from Slovakia were limited to 291.8 million kWh in order to ensure the operational safety of Burshtyn thermal power plant (TPP) island,” the operator said in a release.

The United Energy System of Ukraine trade zone, which operates in parallel with the energy systems of Russia, Belarus and Moldova, received 2.7 million kWh in April, which is 3.4 times less than in March. At the same time, the entire indicated volume was imported from Belarus, while electricity was not imported from the Russian Federation.
