Russia-backed separatists attacked Ukrainian forces in Donbas 12 times from 00:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on September 11, and did not stop shelling Ukrainian troops during the day, the Headquarters of the Ukrainian Military has said.
“Most of escalation was near Vodiane in the Mariupol sector. Separatists shelled our positions six times from midnight, using grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns. At about 10:00 in the morning, the enemy opened fire from an 82mm mortar on the outskirts of Chermalyk. Further, Ukrainian-controlled positions near Talakivka and Starohnativka came under fire,” the Ukrainian Army HQ said in an update on Facebook on September 11 evening.
The Donetsk sector saw fire from small arms near Zaitseve twice. The village of Pisky was attacked by an infantry fighting vehicle.
The Ukrainian Army HQ did not provide information about the Ukrainian army’s casualties during the period under review.
