According to multiple government agencies, Ukraine was hit by a cyberattack on Tuesday that briefly caused outages at national banks and state departments.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the Armed Services as well Privatbank and Oschadbank, were all targeted by a digital denial of service attack, Ukraine’s communications watchdog said.
All state web infrastructure appeared to be working normally again by late Tuesday.
The incident comes as the possibility of a serious escalation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict remains high, with around 140,000 Russian troops currently massed on the border of Ukraine.
