The official unemployment rate in Ukraine has increased almost ten times over as a result of the coronavirus quarantine, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal said at a government meeting on April 15.
“The number of registered unemployed persons is on the rise; we have seen a nearly tenfold spike since the beginning of quarantine, since the days before the quarantine was put into place,” Shmygal said.
