Ukrainian diplomat, Ambassador Viktor Kryzhanivsky will arrive in Chisinau, the capital city of Moldova, on June 11, over escalation of the political crisis in Moldova, Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has said.
“We really care about what has been happening in neighboring Moldova. We are very closely monitoring it. Viktor Kryzhanivsky, who is in charge of coordinating Transnistrian settlement efforts and is very well versed in Moldovan context, will be in Chisinau tomorrow,” Klimkin wrote on Facebook on June 10.
The minister expressed concern about the increasing likelihood of a “‘good turn done by outside players.” “Unfortunately, more mediation means a less subject-oriented [attitude],” he added.
“We all really need a European, democratic Moldova rather than the possibility of a new Russian bridgehead, which will pose a threat to the Ukrainian south,” Klimkin added.
