Ukraine since the beginning of this season and as of Nov. 4 threshed 67.78 million tonnes (up by 7.11 million tonnes per week from Oct. 28 to Nov. 4) of the main grain and leguminous crops from a total area of 13.79 million hectares, according to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food on Friday.
According to it, the leaders in threshing were the Odesa region with an indicator of 4.89 million tonnes, Kharkiv region (4.74 million tonnes), Vinnytsia region (4.61 million tonnes), Dnipropetrovsk region (4.57 million tonnes), Poltava region (4.53 million tonnes), Sumy region (4.1 million tonnes) and Chernihiv region (4.04 million tonnes).
In total, 88.64 million tonnes (up by 8.14 million tonnes per week) of major grains, legumes, oilseeds (as well as dug out sugar beets) from a total area of 22.22 million hectares have been harvested this season.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy clarified, as of the indicated date, 22.81 million tonnes of corn (up by 7.19 million tonnes) were harvested from 3.34 million hectares (61% of the forecast), which accounted for the overwhelming majority (88%) of the crops harvested during the week.
Also, 14.72 million tonnes of sunflower (up by 860,000 tonnes) from 6.19 million hectares (95% of the forecast) were harvested.
In addition, farmers harvested 8.82 million tonnes (up by 1.06 million tonnes) of sugar beet from 187,870 hectares (83% of the forecast).
The ministry clarified that a total of 109,900 tonnes (up by 1,500 tonnes) of buckwheat were harvested from 83,300 hectares (99% of the forecast). At the same time, the harvest of millet has been fully completed – 182,800 tonnes from 77,600 hectares.
In addition, 3.23 million tonnes of soybeans (up by 177,000 tonnes) were harvested from 1.22 million hectares (95% of the forecast).
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy also recalled the completion of work on harvesting rapeseed, which was harvested in the amount of 2.91 million tonnes from an area of 1.01 million hectares.
It is specified that the average yield of wheat as of November 4 was 46.2 centners per ha, barley – 39.1 centners per ha, corn – 68.24 centners per ha, sunflower – 23.77 centners per ha, soybeans – 26.39 centners per ha, rapeseed –28.6 centners per ha, sugar beet – 469.48 centners per ha, peas – 24.38 centners per ha, buckwheat – 13.2 centners per ha, and millet – 23.57 centners per ha.
As reported, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy predicted the harvest of grain and leguminous crops in 2021/2022 MY at 75.8 million tonnes, exports could reach 56 million tonnes.
