President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed decree No. 1/2021 On the provision of humanitarian aid to the Republic of Croatia in connection with the earthquake in this country, the President’s Office reported on Jan. 4 evening.

“According to the document, the Cabinet of Ministers must ensure the provision of humanitarian aid to Croatia to overcome the consequences of the emergency,” the statement said.

Earlier, Zelensky expressed his condolences to the Croatian people in connection with the earthquake that killed people.

“Ukraine prays for everyone who suffered from this disaster and wishes strength and endurance,” the head of the Ukrainian state said on social networks.

The devastating earthquake in Croatia occurred on December 29, 2020, but the aftershocks lasted for several days. The central part of the country, in particular the cities of Petrinja and Sisak, suffered the most. More than 13,000 objects were destroyed and damaged.
