You're reading: Ukraine to receive aid for fight against COVID-19 from South Korea

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva has met with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Kwon Ki-Chang to discuss cooperation for fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, according to a statement on the website of the Ukrainian president posted on April 16.

“The ambassador of the Republic of Korea said that Ukraine will receive humanitarian aid for fight against COVID-19 in the near future, which was agreed upon by the leaders of the two states. The prospects of visa liberalization by the Republic of Korea for Ukrainian citizens and the development of a bilateral political dialogue at the top level were also discussed,” it said.

Zhovkva thanked the South Korean side for its assistance in organizing the purchase of necessary high quality medical equipment in South Korea and its transportation to Ukraine.

He also asked the government of the Republic of Korea to issued permits for the next flights that will transport the next batches of medical goods from Seoul as soon as possible.

The sides also agreed on further cooperation in providing citizens of both countries with support during the pandemic.
