Protecting the country in the air is a very important task for modern Ukraine, says Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov.
Talking to UNIAN news agency, the Secretary of RNBO (National Security and Defence Council) reminded that Russia constantly strengthens its air bases along Ukrainian borders, increases the air forces, especially attack aviation. In Ukraine, the anti-aircraft system was systematically ruined for years, and restoring it would take time and money. That is why protecting our airspace from Russian aircraft and cruise missiles is a key issue for Ukrainian defence system.
