Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Senyk and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central and Eastern Europe in the Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs Robin Dunnigan discussed key issues of the new Strategic Partnership Charter, which is planned to be adopted during the Commission strategic partnership’s joint meeting.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine press service said on October 6, Senyk congratulated Dunnigan on the beginning of activities in the direction of Central and Eastern Europe and confirmed the readiness of the Ukrainian MFA to continue effective cooperation with the new team of the U.S. Department of State.
The U.S. Assistant Secretary of State noted the firmness of the U.S. support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, strengthening the country’s defense capability and democratic resilience.
At the meeting, the diplomats also discussed in detail the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the United States in early September, in particular, in the defense, cybersecurity, energy, trade, and investment sectors.
Senyk and Dunnigan paid special attention to the preparation of a joint meeting of the Strategic Partnership Commission chaired by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
