You're reading: Ukraine’s accession to EU supported by almost 70 percent of Ukrainians

Almost 70 percent of Ukrainians surveyed have said they support Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, according to the results of a sociological study conducted by Ukraine’s State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting.

“Today, 69 percent of Ukrainians are ready and support joining the EU, while 13 percent oppose the idea and 18 percent were unable to answer the question,” Center of Strategic Development of Areas Director Andriy Orlov said during a presentation of the study results on Tuesday in Kyiv.

The survey was conducted from May 14 through May 30 by the Center of Strategic Development of Areas at the behest of Ukraine’s State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting. Some 2,116 people took part in 24 Ukrainian regions. The margin of error does not exceed 2.18 percent.
