The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) has introduced additional sanctions against individuals and legal entities of the Russian Federation.

“In connection with the continuing hybrid aggression of Russia against Ukraine, the NSDC of Ukraine has introduced additional sanctions against individuals and entities of the aggressor state,” the press service of the National Security and Defense Council said at the end of the Council meeting on Dec. 29.

In particular, it has introduced sanctions against persons illegally elected to the State Duma of the Russian Federation as the result of the so-called “elections” held by the occupation authorities on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, the members of the so-called “election commissions”, and Ukrainian enterprises in Crimea. The sanctions were also imposed on officials of Russian law enforcement agencies and courts involved in the illegal detention of Ukrainian citizens in Russia.

In addition, the National Security and Defense Council will apply sanctions against former leaders of Ukraine, who were put on the wanted list and are hiding from the prosecution and were involved in the financing of terrorist activity and a hybrid Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The National Security and Defense Council also imposed sanctions on Russian-controlled legal entities involved in Russia’s hybrid war against Ukraine in the field of information and cyberspace.

“To ensure transparency and synchronization of actions, all sanctions applied to individuals and legal entities have been extended for a year,” the press service said.
