You're reading: Ukraine’s defense minister hopes to continue cooperation with British advisors

Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak supports extending cooperation with advisors from Great Britain.

As the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has reported, at a meeting with the head of the British Defense Staff Nick Parker, Poltorak said: “The question of continuing to work with British advisers, especially in planning and engaging representatives of these exercises [Operation Orbital], is up to Ukraine’s Navy and Air Force, regarding the organization of staff planning procedures.”

Operation Orbital has been conducted since 2015 in the framework of cooperation between the defense ministries of Ukraine and the United Kingdom. Under the program, instructors from the British Army, most of whom have significant experience in participating in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, train Armed Forces personnel in defense operations in accordance with the current requirements of NATO standards.

As reported, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine is on an official visit to the UK.
