KYIV/MINSK. – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (MFA) has confirmed a report about detention of Ukrainian citizens Kostiantyn Reutsky and Yevhen Vasylyev in Minsk and said that it was establishing their location.
“On August 12, at around 5 p.m., two Ukrainian citizens – Kostiantyn Reutsky and Yevhen Vasylyev – were detained in Minsk. The Embassy of Ukraine in Belarus is taking measures to establish location of the detained Ukrainians and find out in which conditions they are kept. More details will be made public additionally,” the ministry said on Twitter on August 12.
Spokeswoman for the Interior Ministry of Belarus Olga Chemodanova, in turn, said that the detained men are Ukrainian journalists who were not accredited in Belarus.
