Major Ukrainian airlines set up last flights for foreigners stuck in Ukraine and willing to go back home this week, despite international travel restrictions put in place on March 18, amid the country’s shutdown to stop the spread of coronavirus.
It is a chaotic situation for foreigners stuck in Ukraine and struggling to find proper information, as the schedules change day after day.
The two companies still operating in Ukraine are Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) and Sky Up, and the safest way to know about departures is by consulting the website of the main Kyiv Boryspil International Airport.
UIA announced on its website it would schedule flights to Brussels, Amsterdam, Baku, Copenhagen, London and Dubai on March 24.
The company also scheduled flight for New York and Toronto on March 25, as well as planes to London and Dubai on March 26. Flights depart to New York, London, Bangkok, Paris, Frankfurt, and Brussels on March 27.
Ukrainian low-cost charter air carrier Sky Up also scheduled numerous flights for foreigners.
On March 24, flights depart to Istanbul, Zagreb, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Munich, Paris and Dubai. On March 25, departures are scheduled to Prague, Paris, Helsinki, Delhi, and Yerevan, and on March 26 to Almaty, Paris, Berlin Tel-Aviv, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, and London.
The tickets on Sky Up cost from $150 to $300.
