A citizen of Ukraine who was wanted for the fraud that had led to about Hr 800 million in losses has been extradited from Switzerland to Ukraine.

“The extradition from the Swiss Confederation to Ukraine of a [Ukrainian] national who was wanted for a large-scale fraud that had led to Hr 799.3 million in losses is over,” the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) said on Nov. 5.

The Federal Department of Justice and Police of the Swiss Confederation in October decided to hand over that person to Ukraine, it said. He was collected by Ukrainian law enforcement agents on Nov. 5 and taken to an agency conducting the pre-trial investigation.

Urgent investigation actions are underway in the criminal proceedings.

The statement by the PGO press service does not mention the extradited person’s name.
