he Ukrainian Supreme Court has ruled to return the bill of indictment in a criminal case against Ukrainian parliamentarian Nadiia Savchenko and former head of the Officer Corps POW Liberation Center Volodymyr Ruban, who are charged with actions aimed at violently changing or overthrowing the constitutional system or seizing power, to the Kyiv Appeals Court.

“The Ukrainian Supreme Court has returned Nadiia Savchenko’s case back to the Kyiv Appeals Court, which refused to hear it last week,” Savchenko’s press service said on Facebook on Wednesday.

The Kyiv Appeals Court will hold the next hearing on Thursday, April 4.

It was reported earlier that the Kyiv Appeals Court had forwarded a bill of indictment in the Savchenko-Ruban case to the Supreme Court in order to determine the case’s jurisdiction.

The Supreme Court ruled on February 25 that the Savchenko-Ruban case be heard at Kyiv’s Solomiansky District Court.

A panel of judges at the Solomiansky Court ruled on March 26 to grant a motion by Savchenko’s and Ruban’s defense teams to disqualify the panel, after which the case was forwarded to the Kyiv Appeals Court to appoint another court for its hearing.
