The State Automobile Roads Agency of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) officially opened a repaired 47.5 kilometers section of the T-14-16 Lviv-Pustomyty-Medenychi road on Thursday, June 4.
Ukravtodor said in a statement that the road was under overhaul from 2017 to 2020. However, the largest number of kilometers and volumes of financing were provided from the middle of June 2019.
The work on 20.8 kilometers was finished in 2019 and another section of 8.4 kilometers was overhauled in 2020.
A total of 12 bridge decks and four transport interchanges were repaired under the project. Outdoor lighting on the road is equipped in accordance with European standards.
“Today we open one of the first roads finished under the Big Construction presidential program. If one looks at other regions where repairs have not been carried out for years, Lviv is a positive exception. However, we see that this is not enough. We lift the bar higher and, according to an ambitious plan, we will modernize almost 250 kilometers of roads in the region in 2020,” Head of Ukravtodor Oleksandr Kubrakov said.
The road agency plans to finish repairs of 242.8 kilometers of roads in Lviv region by the end of 2020.
