Ukroboronprom’s State Enterprise Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau has transferred to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense 12 armored personnel carriers (BTR-4E) from the state defense order of 2019.

“The rescue of this contract has become a priority for the new teams of Ukroboronprom and the Defense Ministry, but this problem would not have been resolved without instructions from the head of state, the decision of the government, as well as the efforts of the Ministry of Economy and the Finance Ministry. One hundred days were enough to unblock the contract, although we were assured it was impossible to save it. These and these armored personnel carriers would have never been delivered to the military. Today, the armored personnel carriers are already in the unit, the design bureau received money for them. This is an example of the coordinated work of many people interested in restoring production and fulfilling the state defense order,” Ukroboronprom General Director Aivaras Abromavicius said, according to the Ukroboronprom’s website.

All armored personnel carriers were accepted by the Defense Ministry and transferred to the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. The contract deadline has been extended until August 31, 2020.

Ukroboronprom said the delivery time for armored personnel carriers had already passed in June of this year, because three years after signing the contract, the contract was broken and the Armed Forces did not receive a single piece of equipment. As a result, the design bureau was on the verge bankruptcy. ”

This is one of Ukroboronprom’s largest contracts within the framework of the State Defense Order. The financing of the contract was provided for by credit funds issued against state guarantees in the amount of Hr 1.5 billion.
