The United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (HRMMU) observed 279 civilian casualties in the Donbas conflict in 2018.

“A total of 279 civilian casualties, including 55 dead and 224 wounded, were observed in 2018. This is 50% down on civilian casualties seen in 2017 and an all-time low in this conflict,” the HRMMU said in a report presented at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

The all-time low in civilian casualties of the Donbas conflict was observed between November 16, 2018, and February 15, 2019. Two civilians were killed, and 11 men and three women suffered injuries over that period.
