Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Andriy Lysenko has announced that Ukraine has stepped up the monitoring of its airspace and borders in response to a statement by Russia’s Defense Ministry about snap checks of Russian troops’ combat readiness near the Ukrainian borders and the transfer of Russian military units to the Russian-occupied Crimea.
