The value of Ukrainian nation’s currency Hryvnia fell by 16% compared to U.S. dollar as of December since the beginning of the year and trades at an average of Hr28 per one dollar. However, the devaluation could have been much worse if the National Bank of Ukraine had not cleaned up the sector in 2015-2016, liquidating two-thirds of the country’s dubious banks.
