The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine stated that it is deeply saddened by the news of the killing of a Ukrainian military medic near Zaitseve (Donetsk region), and, together with the people of Ukraine, condemns the continuous brutal aggression of Russian-led forces in the Donbas.

“We are deeply saddened by the reported killing yesterday of a Ukrainian military medic near Zaitseve. We join the people of Ukraine in condemning the ongoing brutal aggression of Russia-led forces in Donbas and pay tribute to the heroism of the many Ukrainians who have lost their lives and suffered injuries in brave service to their democracy,” the Embassy said on Twitter on July 14.

As reported, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine would inform Ukraine’s international partners about the killing of a military medic by the occupying forces, adding that Ukraine would do everything to ensure that the enemy pays a heavy price for this crime.

“Even today, we, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will inform our partners about what happened and about crudely violating international humanitarian law by the occupying forces. In particular, today I will meet with Representative of the OSCE in the Trilateral Contact Group Heidi Grau, and we will also discuss this issue in detail. The murder of a Ukrainian medic at the front will not be ignored by our international partners, and we will do everything to ensure that the enemy pays a heavy price for this crime,” Kuleba said at an online briefing on July 14.

The foreign minister said that from a legal point of view, this murder has signs of a war crime.
