The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine draws attention to the fact that the Russian Federation does not provide the detained Ukrainian political prisoners with adequate basic medical care under COVID-19 coronavirus conditions and calls on Moscow to immediately release all political prisoners of Ukraine.

“Russia continues to arrest Crimean Tatars & extend detentions of those facing politically motivated prosecution, even as it fails to adequately provide basic medical care for the imprisoned in the face of COVID-19. We urge the Russian Federation to release all Ukrainian political prisoners immediately,” the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine said on Twitter on March 24.

As reported, on March 23, Ukraine’s Foreign Affairs Ministry expressed its strong protest in connection with the failure of the Russian side to provide the necessary medical examination and treatment to a citizen of Ukraine Server Mustafayev illegally detained in the Russian Federation and demands Russia conduct his medical examination immediately. The Foreign Ministry emphasized that they insisted on an immediate medical examination of Mustafayev in a specialized medical institution due to the fact that he had symptoms of COVID-19.
