On Thursday, Sept. 9, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova will attend the court hearing in the case of the downed flight MH17 in the Schiphol Judicial Complex, the Netherlands, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) said.
“The trials for crimes committed in Ukraine in the context of the armed conflict are extremely important. We are closely following the course of the hearings on the tragic flight MH17,” Venediktova said at a meeting with representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on Sept. 8.
Venediktova said that an International council of experts on crimes committed in armed conflict is currently being formed at the PGO, and Ukraine needs the support of Dutch partners and colleagues in involving specialists in international humanitarian law, international criminal law and military experts who will constantly work with Ukrainian specialists.
