U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker said on January 29 that he does not know the date of the next U.S.-Russian consultations on the settlement of the situation in the Donbas.

“At the moment we do not have a date for the next meeting,” he said during a telephone briefing.

The Moscow-based Interfax news agency reported quoting its source that Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov and U.S. special envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker held a meeting in Dubai on January 26, where they did not achieve a common view regarding the Ukrainian Donbas reintegration bill.

“The Donbas reintegration bill was the key issue. However, the sides still demonstrate different approaches to this matter. A common vision hasn’t been achieved so far,” the source said.

No specific resolutions were adopted at the meeting, according to the source.

“The sides have agreed to continue the dialogue,” the source said.
