In Ukraine, three regions are close to being classified as “red” quarantine zone, the closest is Zakarpattia region, as it has the highest rate of oxygen beds occupied, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said.

“What we are worried about, especially of the level of hospitalization – is Vinnytsia region, Mykolaiv region, Lviv region, it is there on a different indicator. In terms of oxygen beds, the highest figure, 65%, is in Zakarpattia region,” Stepanov said on the air of the Right to the Power talk show.

According to him, there are currently three regions in the country that are classified as red, where there are increased quarantine restrictions, which were in force during the post-New Year tough quarantine.

The minister said that he would send one of his deputies there for an inspection, because “we can see from the dynamics that it (Zakarpattia region) is the closest to enter the red level of epidemiological safety.”
