President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky invited representatives of Ukrainian businesses to engage in politics if they want to live in Ukraine.

“So progressive Ukrainians, who are here, need to take risks (…) business people should go into politics, help the country, if they want to live here (…) It seems to me that this is the first place where we can unite – just go into politics. It will be very difficult”, Zelensky said on the air of the TSN TV channel on August 26.

At the same time, he said that “this is a great risk and responsibility.”

“Realizing that you give a part of your life, freedom, your risk, your business – and this is a great responsibility (…) I sit among all of you, as it was two years ago, and talk as a CEO of a large company, the largest production then in Ukraine. It was also a startup for Ukraine. Leading company. These are risks (…) what if it succeeds? And, if there are many like me in our country, and they are, these people exist among us, and if they take risks – this is the first, (..), the second – trust must be earned. The authorities must show that they are doing something,” he said.

“Third, you cannot hate everything that blooms (…) Ukraine today is just such a flower. All of us who risked our lives and careers and went into politics are big risks, and we need to support such people,” Zelensky said.
