TRUSKAVETS – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that law enforcement agencies will be able to find the perpetrators of the assassination attempt of his assistant Serhiy Shefir.

“There was an attempted murder – this is one hundred percent information. There are many details that I do not have the right to voice while the investigation is underway. I believe that the perpetrators will be found,” Zelensky said at a briefing on Oct. 3 in Truskavets, Lviv region, following his meeting with members of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction.

“I can’t talk about the contractors – it’s hard for me to say, an investigation is underway: many people with very well-known names have been summoned to law enforcement agencies, Serhiy did communicate with someone, he knew someone, he suspects someone,” the head of state said.

At the same time, Zelensky confirmed that Shefir had met with Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov, because “there were several difficult moments, many energy issues, many challenges, many ‘coal’ problems.”

At the same time, Zelensky said, answering a relevant question from journalists, that he does not have information about whether his assistant met with other “oligarchs” and whether they were summoned for questioning to law enforcement agencies.
