President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in a telephone talk has expressed a gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for consistent support of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, its condemnation of the illegal annexation of Crimea, and for its support for the Crimean Tatars.

“In this regard, the presidents expressed content with the implementation of the agreements reached during their personal meeting on February 3 this year, including the construction of houses in Kherson and Henichesk for the internally displaced persons from Crimea,” reads a report on the president’s website.

As reported, on February 3, during a visit to Kyiv, Erdogan said that the Turkish authorities decided to provide housing for about 500 families of Crimean Tatars.

“We covered the topics of national minorities, such as the Gagauz. After the capture of Crimea, after the illegal annexation of Crimea, the Crimean Tatars were forced to leave their homeland, and we monitor this process. We will continue to help the Crimean Tatars,” he said at a meeting with Zelensky in February.
