Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a traditional conference call to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) has praised the level of patient care and medical protection in the country.
“We have pretty good patient care. After all, both the level of using lung ventilators and the mortality rate are quite low. We also began to better protect medical workers. If in mid-April, physicians made up one fifth of the cases, now they are 9.5%. Any patient is supposed to get all the help they need, but more doctors should be protected because they are at the forefront,” he said.
According to the press service of the head of state, the incidence rate of COVID-19 in Ukraine has increased and now stands at 58 people per 100,000 population. However, the use of lung ventilators is quite low – only 6.5%.
At the same time, the government is preparing for the second wave of the epidemic.
The national police, in turn, reported that over the past 24 hours they handed over 484 protocols to public institutions, such as restaurants, nightclubs and others for violations of quarantine measures.
