The Russian Federation should stop violating human rights in the Crimean peninsula it occupied and allow international humanitarian and human rights organizations there, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said.
“For the first time at the international level, Russia has been recognized as an occupying state. And in accordance with the norms of international humanitarian law, it must immediately stop the violation of human rights in the temporarily occupied Crimea peninsula and provide already now unhindered access to Crimea for international humanitarian and human rights organizations,” Zelensky said at the end of the constituent summit of the Crimean platform on August 23 in Kyiv.
