You're reading: Zelensky signs decree on state of water resources of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the state of water resources in Ukraine made on July 30.

Zelensky signed the decree on Aug. 13. Its text was posted on the president’s website.

Among other things, the government of Ukraine was instructed to create an interdepartmental coordinating council on water resources of Ukraine with the participation of representatives of the President’s Office, the NSDC apparatus, central and local executive authorities.

In addition, it is planned to adopt a law on the nationwide targeted social program Drinking Water of Ukraine for 2022-2026 (registration number 5723).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, together with the Kyiv City State Administration, with the participation of the joint-stock company Kyivvodokanal, was instructed to prepare and send official appeals to the government of Japan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to speed up the conclusion of a general contract for the implementation of the project Reconstruction of Sewage Treatment Plants and Construction of a Technological Line for the Processing and Disposal of Sediments of the Bortnychi wastewater treatment plant.
