You're reading: Zelensky signs law on creation of national intellectual property office

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed law No. 703-IX on the creation of the national intellectual property office (bill No. 2255), according to the information in the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“The bill will allow completing the institutional reform of intellectual property agencies, which started in 2016,” Deputy Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Romanovych said on his Facebook page on July 10.

He added that the new office will become an analogue of the European Patent Office and will be set up in the basis of the Ukrainian Institute of Intellectual Property (Ukrpatent).
