The administration will soon present a detailed scenario for the country to come out of the quarantine, which will have five stages, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
“I support the Ukrainian government’s decision to extend the quarantine until May 11. It’s the right step, based on an analysis of the National Academy of Sciences and the Health Ministry,” the president said in his video address to the people of Ukraine on April 23.
“We have a clear plan for coming out of the quarantine. The prime minister will soon announce a detailed scenario for coming out of the quarantine, which will have five stages,” Zelensky said.
He mentioned two conditions on which the country’s gradual exit of quarantine will begin.
“Ukraine will start gradually coming out [of the quarantine] on two key conditions. The first one is that the percentage of registered cases does not change for a period of ten days or remains within five percent. The second condition is that the hospitals are filled with COVID-19 patients by less than a half,” he said.
Hasty return to the usual life rhythm can now be fatal, the president said.
Zelensky called on citizens to continue exercising patience, self-discipline and remain calm.
