Serhiy Orlov, deputy mayor of the city of Mariupol, has said that the city of around 500,000 people continues to be under “continuous Russian shelling” and that genocide of locals is taking place at the hands of Russian invaders.
At least 1,170 people have been killed, with 47 buried today in a mass grave, he confirmed. There is no water, heat, power or gas. Residents are drinking snow and burning firewood, he added, saying “it’s medieval”.
