Tanzanian author Abdulrazak Gurnah is the latest recipient of a Nobel Prize. On October 7, the Swedish Academy announced Gurnah the winner of the top prize in literature for his “uncompromising and compassionate penetration of the effects of colonialism and the fate of the refugee in the gulf between cultures and continents”.
