Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reports new attacks on its positions near border with Armenia

Armenian forces have again shelled Azerbaijani army positions in the Kalbajar and Gadabay regions, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Small arms were fired from Armenian army positions in the towns of Basarkechar and Shishgaya in the Basarkechar region at Azerbaijani army positions in Istisu, Kalbajar region, and Galakend, Gadabay region, between 9:55 a.m. on August 17 and 1 a.m. on August 18, the ministry said.

The Azerbaijani forces are monitoring the operative situation, it said.
