You're reading: Five Georgian citizens killed in bus-car collision in Tbilisi

TBILISI – A road accident in Tbilisi has claimed five lives, the Georgian Public Broadcaster’s Channel One said on Dec.31.

The accident occurred on the western bank of the Kura River, near the so-called Dry Bridge when a bus en route from Russia to Armenia via Georgia collided with a Lada car, the channel said.

A police patrol and ambulance vehicles were rushed to the site.

The five victims were the Lada driver and his passengers, citizens of Georgia.

Detectives have opened an inquiry under Part 7, Article 276 of the Georgian Criminal Code, “a violation of traffic rules causing two deaths or more.”
