A jury ended its first day of deliberations August 16 on whether U.S. President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort is guilty of tax and bank fraud to finance his lavish lifestyle.

The six-man, the six-woman jury met for about seven hours, during which they asked the judge four questions, including clarification of the meaning of “reasonable doubt.” Under U.S. law, the guilt of the accused must be proven “beyond a reasonable doubt” or there can be no conviction.
