Economist Anders Åslund thinks that Ukraine’s recent success against the invading Russian military has eliminated the last political asset the Kremlin had. In comments for the project-syndicate.org site he wrote that the Putin regime gambled and failed in its unprovoked war on Ukraine and Russia is now politically bankrupt and teetering on becoming a failed state.
