Economist Anders Åslund has analysed the possible consequences of Russia losing the war it is waging against Ukraine.

He said that sanctions imposed in the last three months are beginning to bite and that regardless of the end of this latest Putin war, he is unlikely to survive it politically.

Russia is unlikely to use nuclear weapons, the author concluded.
